The Half Moon Orchestra will perform an enchanting holiday concert to a sold out crowd for the second year in a row at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Munson in downtown Utica. This year, they’ll take the stage in full force, bringing the magic of the season to life with the entire orchestra in the Root Court and featuring a captivating vocal quartet presented by Chelsea Arts Live.
“I’m not at all surprised that the concert sold out as early as it did,” commented Bob Mortis, Munson’s Director of Performing Arts. “Everyone raved about last year’s concert. I’m glad we were able to host the full orchestra in a larger space this time.”
The Half Moon Orchestra, a community chamber ensemble founded in 2022, operates out of Oriskany, N.Y., sponsored by Giotto Enterprises and conducted by Michael DiMeo, the ensemble focuses on providing accessible concerts to everyone, including those who might not typically experience the joy of live orchestral music.
Inclusive accommodations and family-friendly atmospheres are prioritized to ensure live instrumental music reaches all members of the community.
