GPO Federal Credit Union is excited to be offering college-bound high school seniors with the opportunity to compete for scholarships to help finance their education. GPO will be awarding three scholarships worth $1,500, $1000 and $500. Also by applying through the GPO scholarship program, students will be automatically eligible for scholarships awarded through the Utica-Rome Chapter of Credit Unions on a statewide level in amounts up to an additional $1,750. This program is a great example of the “people helping people” philosophy of your local credit union.

To be eligible, the student must be a member at GPO Federal Credit Union, and must be a high school senior attending a two or four-year accredited educational institution for the first time in the fall of 2022. Scholarship applications are available and can be submitted at all GPO branches or online at gpofcu.com. The deadline to submit an application is January 3, 2022. Applications will be independently judged and based upon academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities and the quality of a written essay.
