The F.X. Matt Brewing Co., brewer of Saranac craft beers and soft drinks, has been named New York Brewery of the Year at the NY International Beer Competition in addition to being awarded four other medals.

Fred Matt, President of the F.X. Matt Brewing Co. commented “We pride ourselves on creating great beer that is distinctive yet drinkable.” Matt also mentioned, “We were really pleased to be recognized as Brewery of the Year, not to mention winning 4 medals.”

The NY International Beer Competition is in its 9^th year with beer submissions from 14 countries in 30+ beer style categories. In addition to New York Brewery of the Year, the F.X. Matt Brewing Co. won 4 medals for the following beers:

• Gold – Utica Club (category: Lager/light lager)
• Silver – Saranac Pale Ale (category: American-Style Pale Ale)
• Bronze – Saranac Polar Haze (category: American-Style India Pale Ale)
• Bronze – Saranac Adirondack Lager (category: Vienna Style Lager).
