First Source Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that wrapping up their month-long sock drive assisting the Rescue Missions of Utica and Rome, they raised over 1,500 pairs of socks!

First Source’s “Socks to the Rescue” donation drive kicked off Friday, January 10th at the Utica University Men’s Hockey Game, running through Friday, February 14th at each of their branch locations.

The 1,526 pairs of new socks were evenly divided and delivered to the Rescue Mission of Utica and the Rome Rescue Mission.

“We are so thankful for First Source Federal Credit Union’s “Socks to the Rescue Donation,” said Ernie Talarico, Director of Operations, Rescue Mission of Utica.  “The generous donation will go directly to our program residents and those who we serve through our community services programs. John Calabrese, the First Source team and donors, have helped meet a basic need in our community and have directly shown how much our community cares for the individuals we serve.”

Socks are often in high demand for rescue missions, especially during the winter months. First Source sincerely thanks everyone who donated and contributed to this cause.
