Broadway Theatre League of Utica is thrilled to announce the launch of its latest initiative, Full Circle: Seniors, Seniors & a Show, an intergenerational program aimed at uniting local high school seniors and senior citizens through the shared experience of live theater. Made possible by a generous grant from The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, this groundbreaking program seeks to foster connections between younger and older generations while celebrating the arts.

Participants will be paired together to attend Broadway Utica performances at The Stanley Theatre, with the goal of creating meaningful bonds through the magic of live theater. This initiative goes beyond entertainment, offering participants a chance to share life stories, exchange perspectives, and build lasting relationships in a fun, inclusive environment.

“This program is more than just attending a show,” said Danielle Padula, Director of Broadway Utica. “It’s about creating connections that bridge generations. We hope ‘Full Circle’ will spark meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and moments that participants will carry with them for years to come.”

For high school seniors, this program provides an enriching cultural experience, while also giving them the chance to learn valuable life lessons from their senior companions. Senior citizens, on the other hand, can reconnect with their community, share their experiences, and enjoy a day out with great company.

Program Details:

Participants will be matched based on shared interests and availability. Before the show, they will meet for a casual gathering over coffee and dessert, allowing them to get to know one another. Afterward, they will attend the show together and participate in a post-show discussion to reflect on the performance.

Participants must have their own transportation and be able to attend at least two of the following shows:

• The Kingdom Choir – December 12, 2024
• Dirty Dancing Live in Concert – January 24, 2025
• Dear Evan Hansen – April 8, 2025
