To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing on behalf of the Bosnian American Community Association, Inc. (BACA) in Utica, NY. We are a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under IRC 503(c)(3), EIN: 87-1648703. My name is Hanka Grabovica, and as President of BACA, I am reaching out to inform you about an exciting project we are working on.

We are organizing a fundraiser dinner event on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Stanley Theatre in Utica, NY. This event will support BACA’s goal of building a Sebilj in Utica, a cultural and historical landmark that symbolizes Bosnian heritage. The Sebilj, a traditional Ottoman-style fountain, holds deep significance in Bosnian culture, representing hospitality, community, and resilience. Through this monument, we aim to honor the contributions of Bosnians in Utica and preserve their identity for future generations.

This project will benefit not only the Bosnian community but the wider Utica population as well. It will enhance the city’s cultural landscape, promote diversity, and encourage understanding among different ethnic groups. The Sebilj will also stand as a symbol of pride and unity for Bosnian Americans, connecting future generations to their roots and enriching Utica’s cultural fabric.

We sincerely appreciate your consideration of our request. If you are able to contribute or have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at 315-404-3582 or uticabaca@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your support in helping us create a meaningful cultural landmark for our community.

Sincerely,

Hanka Grabovica

President, Bosnian American Community Association (BACA)
