Broadway Theatre League of Utica is up to new tricks this fall. As night draws in, and ominous shadows drift between the falling leaves, there’s a rustle in the wind that’s begun to whisper…Halloween. Luckily, Broadway Utica’s talented Boo Crew is armored with ghoulish designs, a cauldron of witches, and a map from Frankenstein himself, ready to vamp up yards just in time for Tricks and Treats.
Boo Your Yard! is Broadway Utica’s latest FUNdraiser designed to target their Students on Broadway Program, which introduces area youth to the theater world. Previous fundraising efforts, along with supportive area sponsors such as First Source Credit Union, have provided thousands of students in grades K-12 an opportunity to attend live Broadway productions with hopes to offer summer theatre camps, additional master classes, a theatre awards show and more. “The arts are an important part of Utica’s culture and history, and each art venue has a beautiful and impactful story to tell,” said Pamela Way, Community Relations Specialist at First Source Federal Credit Union.
The Boo Crew will take the gruel out of decorating as they Boo Your Yard! October 22-23, between the witching hours of 10 am-4 pm. Packages range from $50 to $125 and include decorations, goodie bags, a scavenger hunt conjured up by Frankenstein, and a few monstrous surprises. Boo Your Yard! participants who purchase the $125 package also have the chance to win two tickets to the upcoming performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which will be hidden in just four select goodie bags.
But we must warn you–Boo Your Yard! is only available for a limited time and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Those generous and adventurous enough to have their front yard professionally designed and decorated for Halloween are encouraged to call Broadway Utica at (315) 624-9444 or register online at broadwayutica.org.
