On June 26, AmeriCU Credit Union teammate, Kristy D’Imperio, Assistant Vice President of the Member Contact Center graduated from the Leadership Mohawk Valley.

Leadership Mohawk Valley is a civic engagement program for community leaders that promotes change and stability within the community. Participants build their leadership skills, gain knowledge about community issues, and explore the Mohawk Valley. In order to graduate from the program, participants have to complete a special project. This year the class elected to work with Center for Life and Recovery (CFLR) to build a Recovery Art Café/Youth Clubhouse. Participants fundraised, painted walls, and furnished the multi-purpose space for CFLR to offer services, programming, and events to the community in a safe environment.

“Leadership Mohawk Valley inspired me to broaden my knowledge and deepen my involvement as a community leader,” says Kristy D’Imperio, Assistant Vice President of AmeriCU’s Contact Center. “The course offered experiences that helped me understand the interconnectedness of our community and how active engagement can create a positive impact.”

AmeriCU is proud to partner with Leadership Mohawk Valley in sending a candidate each year through this program to cultivate strong leadership within the community. The credit union’s commitment to fostering a culture of growth and learning creates an environment that supports the personal and professional development of its team. By investing in its employees’ development, promoting collaboration, and engaging with the community, AmeriCU creates a positive impact on its members and the community it serves.
