STATE UPDATES:
This morning, Governor Cuomo implemented new restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and decrease the expected strain on our health care facilities.  The Chamber will work to keep you informed of the latest updates as best as possible.  We have outlined the highlights of these restrictions below.  To view the entire announcement, click here:   NYS Governor’s Announcement 3/16/20
  • No gatherings of more than 50 people.
  • Beginning tonight at 8pm, Casinos, Gyms, Theaters, Bars, and Restaurants will be closing.  However, restaurants will be able to offer take-out.  The State Liquor Authority (SLA) will soon be enabling establishments (restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries & distilleries) to serve their offerings off-premise as well.  In other words, you can order food, beer, wine, liquor, etc. all for take-out to enjoy at home.  More information from the SLA on the specifics will be available by 5pm today.
  • The State is waiving all park fees where applicable.  This is in an effort to give families a safe outlet to get outdoors as the weather is changing, in an environment that is not densely populated.
  • Local Governments must reduce to 50% workforce.
  • Local Government must supply all emergency service workers, such as Police Officers and First Responders with surgical masks.
The Chamber understands that these were not easy decisions to make and they affect absolutely everyone.  We also know that we have a responsibility to comply with the regulations, and to support our members as much as possible.  We will work to update you daily as this is an ever-changing situation.
We will also be taking some time to chat with our different members each day so they have an opportunity to let us know how they’re doing and how you can best support them during this time. We will be doing interviews and posting them on social media.
