Utica is experiencing an undeniable period of revival, with great attention being paid to restoring and repurposing its landmark properties. Now is the perfect moment to breathe new life into the Uptown Theatre, a beloved local landmark, which has been vacant and underutilized for years. Briana and Devin Mahoney, founders of Uptown Theatre for Creative Arts (UTCA), will talk about their vision for the Uptown’s revitalization, the progress they’ve made so far, and the creative community already taking shape around this neighborhood anchor. This program takes place in the History Center’s main gallery on Saturday, February 29 starting at 1:00 PM.

Briana and Devin founded UTCA in 2017 while they were living in Los Angeles and working in the entertainment industry (Briana in marketing and Devin in TV sitcoms). Since relocating to Utica in 2018, they have been full-time champions for the Uptown and acting executive directors for UTCA.

The Oneida County History Center is a private 501(c) (3) not-for-profit educational institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the history, heritage, and culture of the Greater Mohawk Valley.
