The local chapter of the American Heart Association provides grant funding for community-based organizations in the Mohawk Valley with the mission to create a world of longer, healthier lives.
The American Heart Association is proud to announce that our Mohawk Valley Community Impact Grant Awards cycle will award $40,000 in grants in 2020.
Local organizations can start the application process on January 6, 2020. Project proposals will need to focus on reducing cardiovascular disease and their risk factors by specifically targeting healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco use, blood pressure control. Special consideration will be given to projects aimed at improving the health of underserved communities. This year’s grants will fund projects up to $10,000.
A grant workshop will be hosted on January 14th from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce located in the Landmark Building in downtown Utica. This is an opportunity to learn about the grant process and application.
Starting in 2011, the local American Heart Association has been able to award $290,000 with 72 grants to 32 deserving organizations who are working to improve the health of the Mohawk Valley.
