AmeriCU Credit Union proudly recognizes the generosity of the remarkable 7-year-old Mason who recently demonstrated the true spirit of giving. Mason used one of AmeriCU’s coin machines to count his savings, which he then donated to two meaningful causes.
Mason’s inspiration came from seeing St. Jude commercials, along with his parents’ participation in adoption classes with the Madison County Foster Home. His father put out a call to action on social media, asking friends and family to donate their spare change to Mason’s mission. With the community’s help, Mason raised $2,187. He used part of the funds to purchase essentials and gifts for children at the foster home, donating the rest to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“Mason has always had a kind and giving nature,” said his father. “He’s the type of kid who offers his toys to anyone who comes to the house and is always looking for ways to give back. This effort was something he truly wanted to do, and we couldn’t be prouder of him.”
When AmeriCU learned about Mason’s selfless actions, the credit union decided to honor his generosity by donating to both the Madison County Foster Home and to St. Jude in the name of Mason and AmeriCU.
“Mason reminds us of all of the power of generosity and the importance of community,” said Ron Belle, AmeriCU’s President & CEO. “We were inspired by his kindness and honored to help him make an even greater impact on these important organizations.”
