In honor of our nation’s veterans, SUNY Polytechnic Institute will host a Ruck March on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the Student Center. This event brings the campus and community together in solidarity with veterans, aiming to raise awareness about the physical and emotional challenges faced by military personnel.
The Ruck March (or Walk) is a powerful, community-driven event where participants walk with weighted backpacks filled with non-perishable items, symbolizing the burdens carried by veterans. The march fosters resilience, support, and a sense of camaraderie within the veteran community, allowing participants to honor those who serve.
Items collected for the event will be donated to a local non-profit organization. Donations of non-perishable items are welcomed and can be delivered to the Center for Student Involvement at the Student Center by Monday, November 18.
The event is free, but advance registration is required, as participation is capped at 50 individuals.
