On September 8, AmeriCU Credit Union teammate Tiffany Abele, AVP of Talent Solutions received the New York State Society for Human Resource Management (NYS SHRM) Dennis Ryan Memorial Volunteer Award. This award celebrates Abele’s leadership and service to SHRM and the Mohawk Valley, exemplifying the spirit of volunteerism.

NYS SHRM is an association that is dedicated to advancing the practice of human resource management and fostering HR professionals’ growth and development. This organization provides resources, education, and networking opportunities to HR professionals and promotes best practices in the field of human resources.

Abele’s achievement is a testament to the opportunities for self-development, community involvement, and personal fulfillment that AmeriCU offers. The credit union’s commitment to fostering a culture of growth and learning creates an environment that supports career advancement and skill development of its team. The Dennis Ryan Memorial Volunteer Award honors the memory of Dennis Ryan, a previous long-standing member of SHRM and an enthusiastic volunteer in the human resources community. Dennis dedicated hours of his personal and professional time to volunteering and advancing the Human Resources profession. This award is given annually to an individual who has shown exceptional volunteerism and service.

Abele has consistently volunteered her time and expertise to make a meaningful impact in the Mohawk Valley. In addition to serving as treasurer for Mohawk Valley Society for Human Resource Management (MVSHRM), Abele serves as a board member for the Rome Chamber of Commerce. In June 2023, Abele completed the Leadership Mohawk Valley program through the Center for Leadership Excellence. Leadership Mohawk Valley is a civic engagement program for community leaders that promotes change and stability within the community.

Abele received the award during the NYS SHRM Annual State Conference and Associated Council Meeting which was held on September 8 – September 10 at Albany Capital Center, attended by HR professionals across New York State.
