RT Federal Credit Union has awarded a New York Credit Union Association scholarship and matched that award, totaling $500 in scholarships to a local high school senior to help finance their college education.
The student Sienna Snyder, a member of RT Federal Credit Union, competed against more than 750 credit union members from across the state and was chosen based on their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.
In addition, over 35 local BOCES students were also recognized with scholarships of $100 each. These students were selected by their teachers for demonstrating a helping attitude of service to their school, community, family, or an individual. These students display a positive attitude that has contributed to the enrichment of one’s life or the lives of fellow student(s) or members of the community. $1,000 was also awarded to other local students via the Dollars for Scholars Program this year.
“At RTFCU, we firmly believe that ‘together we grow’. By investing in the education of our young members, we are not only supporting their individual dreams but also nurturing the future leaders of our community.” said Tracy Worden, CEO. “We are proud to stand with them on their journey to success, knowing that as they thrive, so does our entire community.”
