On June 29, AmeriCU Credit Union teammates, Tiffany Abele, AVP of Talent Solutions and Cara White, AVP of Insurance and Wealth Services, successfully completed the Leadership Mohawk Valley program through the Center for Leadership Excellence. Leadership Mohawk Valley is a civic engagement program for community leaders that promotes change and stability within the community.

Over the course of the 10-month program, participants build their leadership skills, gain knowledge about community issues, and explore the Mohawk Valley. As part of the program, classes work together on a project to give back to the community. This year the class elected to work with Hospice & Palliative Care to build a kindness garden for the patients and their families. They planted flowers, painted rocks with inspirational pictures and quotes, and worked with a local company to create two butterfly benches for the garden.

“My family and I enjoy living in the Mohawk Valley, and because of that I am committed to making a difference in our community and giving families a place to thrive,” says Tiffany Abele, AVP of Talent Solutions. “The program has given me a new group of friends and colleagues to bond with who share a similar passion for the success of the Mohawk Valley.”
