245 ICAN families had a full Thanksgiving dinner delivered to help make the holiday brighter – that is almost a 25% increase in families served from last year. Monetary and food donations from many supporters made it possible to serve more families than we ever have before, during a year where we anticipated the need to be greater than ever.
All the fixings needed for Thanksgiving dinner were assembled by ICAN staff, social distanced at ICAN’s Main Street headquarters in Utica. Agency staff and providers then delivered baskets to families across Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
ICAN CEO/Executive Director Steven Bulger expresses his appreciation for all those that have made this year’s drive the best to date. “Our partners, sponsors and community have stepped up once again to provide joy and togetherness to families who need it – this year more than ever.”
“It is our pleasure to be able to assist ICAN with their annual Turkey drive again this year,” said Tom Neumann, President/CEO of First Source. “Being able to help Steve and his team by making Thanksgiving a reality for so many families is something we are grateful for the opportunity to do again this year.”
The Turkey Drive was made possible by: First Source Federal Credit Union, general donations from the community and ICAN staff and providers.
