Purchase Completed for New Fitness Mill Property in Utica.

Today the purchase of land on Oriskany Boulevard was finalized, which is the final step before construction begins on the new Fitness Mill Facility. Preparation for construction began by clearing the old buildings on the land at 1532 Oriskany Boulevard toward the end of 2019. The buildings on the site had been empty and off the tax rolls for over four years. Alex Carbone, owner, said; “we believe in the financial vitality of the Utica area and have confidence that this unique complex will be successful. I’m grateful to be returning to my roots with business in the Utica area.” Commitments from strategic business partners and their expected occupancy will be 12,000 square feet of retail tenant space that will complement the fitness facility in the building which will total 42,000 square feet.

The building will be a modern, single-story structure offering an expanded fitness facility with an indoor 1/8-mile track featuring indoor-grade rubber flooring that is twice the size of the current New York Mills location. In addition, there will be expanded saunas and steam rooms, the area’s only designated spin cycle facility and 10 woman’s and 10 men’s bath facilities. A significant offering at the new facility will be 24-hour access to the fitness facility, which expands entry to accommodate any schedule for fitness enthusiasts and safe, secure, well-lit parking for 200 vehicles. The building is expected to be completed by March 2021.
