WHAT IS TAKE OUT THE VIRUS?

Area business owners have joined together and are pledging to support local restaurants in a campaign that will also help their employees and their families put food on the table.  In an effort initiated by Gilroy, Kernan & Gilroy, six businesses; Bank of Utica, Casa Imports, Gilroy, Kernan & Gilroy, Indium Corporation, McCraith Beverage and Strategic Financial Services have pledged to reimburse employees for “take-out” meals purchased at area restaurants.  By signing up, businesses will be recognized on greateruticachamber.org and will receive resources to promote their participation.  Click here to view the original press release!

HOW DOES MY BUSINESS PARTICIPATE?

1. Decide on a dollar amount you are willing to reimburse each employee.  For example, $50 per employee.
2. Complete the pledge form below.  Upon completion your logo will be added to this page.
3. Communicate with your employees.  Let them know the amount you are giving, the process for reimbursement, and a timeline. Need help with this? Here’s a downloadable graphic for you to utilize.  Also, we have a great restaurant guide here for take-out inspiration!
4. Promote your participation!  We have a graphic and logo available for download here. Encourage your employees to use #takeoutthevirus and share pictures of their take-out orders on social media!
